Well, it turns out I do. LOL I got one the first day. Missed with the first shot, but got him with the second. We didn't go out yesterday. Just goofed off looking at his derby cars, and swapping stories. But still had a great time!

Well, we just had to have our old lady dog put to sleep. The last week, she started having seizers. This morning, she was having a real bad one! It was hard to do, but we took and had her put to sleep. We stayed with her, till the end. Rose was 13 years old. She was a great family dog and friend! Steve

We cut our Christmas tree today. It was great weather to go hunting for a tree. Cold, but sunny. Better than the rain, that was suppose to be here today. We go each year, to a little tree farm, a few miles away. And now it's up, and the lights are on. Looking pretty good already.

Had a great Christmas! Got some neat goodies. And had fun getting stuff for the Wife and kids. Got my Daughter one of those Bluetooth, hands free cell phone things. So now she can drive, and keep both hands on the wheel. But the fun thing I got her, was a regular fuel pump, for the 83 Merc Marquis I'm building for her first derby. She unwrapped the box, and thought it was just something I had put a different goodie in. The look on her face, was priceless, when she opened the box, and took out the fuel pump.LOL But I told her what it was for, and she thought that was cool.LOL Also got my Son a kind of goofy gift. We had browed a friends splitting maul a few weeks back. I can't swing those things anymore, so he did the wood splitting. And he ended up breaking the handle. Well we took care of that, for my friend. And then a couple days before Christmas, I want back to the hardwear store, and got him a new maul. Had fun wrapping that.LOL It rained pretty good yesterday and night. But this morning, it's real windy! In places around here, gusts up to 80mph. Lots of wires, trees and branches down. And a bunch of garbage cans knocked over. Old Christmas wrapping and bows all over the streets.LOL

Sounds like you had a lot of fun Steve . I like the part about old wrapping papper & bows all over the place form the wind . That's got to be priceless , lol .
Had a really good time here got some really nice gifts , got my wife CD repairer/ cleaner . I also got her some screw drivers , a set infact ! She really hates when I borrow hers all the time , I also got her a palm sander . I thought that was what she wanted , it wasn't . A router is what she wants , my bad . But it's good 1 ! A dewalt ! lmao .

Thanks! And yes, I remember that. We're lucky to have another dog. He's a yellow lab. We've had him for a few years. Not a hunting dog, but a good family pet. Gus is just kind of a big ol' goob.LOL I got my Wife a kind of goofy stocking stuffer. It's one of those little hammers, that have a couple different screwdrivers in the end. It came painted with flowers on it. She's always looking for one of my hammers or screwdrivers, so this worked good for her.

Today, we have a big snow storm, moving into S.W. Kansas. It has been raining since last night. 1.5 inches to be exact. This morning we have had rain/sleet/snow and lots of wind. The forecasters are forcasting 30 to 40 mph winds with higher gusts, and 9-12 inches of snow to fall also! Can you say BLIZZARD! Our main highway west is closed to the Colorado state line. I'm trying to talk the old lady into snuggling, but she's not having any of it! LMAO!

We had our high winds and rain last week. High waves at the beach, roofs being blown off, etc. No real bad flooding. No rain right now. But a bit cold. Not freezing, but still cold.LOL I've always wanted to visit Kansas and that general area. But not with the weather you're getting! LOL

best suggestion I can give you right now Steve is stay out of the dakotas right now . My oldest brother says that the cold is so bitter there you can be in the out doors for 45 minutes and freeze to death and not even feel it coming on you .

The coldest I've ever been in, was -5 up in Lake Tahoe, Calif. And that was just for three days. So I really got to hand it to you cold weather people! Here's a interesting question for you all. What do you use, to heat your house/shop, etc? At ours, we just use the insert we have in our fireplace. And maybe a small elec heater, for when my Wife sews. When we moved in, in 79, the house just had a floor heater. One of those ones, that is half in the hall way, and half in the front room. Our kids were small then, and we didn't like to use it. So we turned off the pilot light, and have never had it back on. We did insulate the house, so it stays ok. I don't have a shop, so I don't have to worry about that.LOL

It was about the same here, in San Francisco bay area. But no rain. Last night, I think it got down to low 40's. Maybe high 30's. Lake Tahoe is up in the Sierra Mountains. Also Truckee, Calif. That's near Lake Tahoe and also Donner Lake, where the Donner Party had their great winter.LOL Just looked up the weather there. It'll be below 0 at night. To much for me!

LOL Yes, they're a bit touchy with the redwoods. We use almond wood mostly. Lots of almond growers out here. They rip up the older trees, and then sell the stuff. Burns hot, slow and doesn't leave much ash.

It's been pretty nice last couple days. No rain, and mid-day temp around 65. Suppose to get nasty again, toward end of week. Temps in the 30's and chance of rain/snow. And windy. Worked on the Merc a bit. Got most of the molding and stuff off. Just taking my time, when the weather lets me.

Yes, there's a lot to be said about here. But I'd still like to move out of our area. Getting to darn crowded. From where I'm at, I can get to the ocean in just about 3/4 of a hour. Or the bay in minutes. Snow is about three hours away. Or, the desert is about 8 to 9 hours away. But there's also earthquakes, that lots of people don't care for.LOL
