I thought it would be fun, to see what was the newest and oldest GM you built and/or driven in a derby. The very first GM I help built, was the very first derby car I helped build. It was a 1965 Pont Tempest. My buddy and myself, each gave $50.00 for it. And we built it to the rules. We fliped a coin, and he drove it. But not very far or long . The next GM I had anything to do with, was a 74 Monte. I had heard how good they were. The tow company I worked for, was about to send it to the wreckers. So I talked the boss into letting me have it. It was a small derby, and I didn't do much to it. It really did pretty good. I got 10th in the main, and $50.00. Then I got another Monte, that I did more stuff to. I never won anything, but kicked some butt with it. And I've helped build some 74/75 Impalas, and one 74 Roundback, that won the heat and main. The truth is what it is. Brother drove it for his first car then I took it to a neighboring county fair and drove it like an idiot. That car held up well and was set up about half wrong the first time I built it. It was 10 times better after I reclipped it and worked the front bumper set up over. Add that to how I drove it and I can't complain.

Rusty '69 Kingswood was the oldest ( what a GIANT turd It looked like a decent derby car and had a similar structure to a roundback but immeadiatly went directly to the ground in the back like there was a giant magnet under it and the front was no better). Newest was a 89 or 90 box Caprice (I can't tell the difference) The Oldest I've built was a '62 Imperial (Raffle Car) The newest will be a GM drivetrain '95 Lincoln this year
