12 bolts are the best, the 10bolts are ok, but i like the 12bolts better. bolt in axels are better then c-clip rearends as well. like always get a good set of gears and have a blast.

I wont run a 10 bolt small wheel pattern axles snap very easy in those.

i run a 557 /538 in a 10 bolt carrier with 12 bolt axles take 12 bolt axle spiders and grind them till they fit or take to a machine shop is what we did and thell go right in and u can run a steep gear with them cause in my experince its hard to find steep gears 4 the 12 bolt carrier hope this helps 753 ;D

the best rearend in my ipinion is a hybrid of the 10bolt bolt in rearend and the 12bolt rearends.

Any merit to some guy's claim that you can put Dana 60 guts in a 71-73 Caddy/Buick/Olds rear? I'd love to run a Dana 60 but we're only allowed 5 lug and the Mopar ones are worth big money and I don't have access to an axle shop to do the splining necessary to use another kind of axle.

if u can put thoes guts in the buick rearends i will feel like crap. i just got rid of a buick 12bolt that i couldnt find gears for.
