The good ones start in 71 as far as the 70 my opinion is keep the merc. it will give a better run.

I would hold on to the Ford also. It will take less work, to make it a good car. The Chevy will need lots of work, to make it what the Crown is stock.

i saw before and after pics of a 70 impala once and it held together just fine. u will need to tuck and dimple the rear. change the front bumper to a shock and it should hold together fine. just weld everything u can and make a complete cage if u can. that is what i would do.

71-76 are the good years for old iron impalas. the 71-73 will need front bumper swaps to be good in the front.

same as above for the old iron gms. for a 80s and newer any 80-90 gm or ford wagon works.

I seen one run this past summer and it looked about like nikki's picture it was a solid car and in the first few hit's it peeled the rear body off the frame , and that was running in a show with a lot of mid 80's gm's .

i ran a 71 impala the c channel's really are not that great but, i pre bent it where the c channel and the box frame come together and then tuck the trunk the front of the car was all i used for the most part cause the ass end didnt go the way i wanted it to one side went up and the other side went down. I would say the best impala is the 74- 78 the rest if not built right are junk,.
