do you guys have anything for a 76 Catalina other than changing the front end to an impala. i have welded the inner and outer fenders. does any body do anything eles?

well down here in GA i can weld the hood shut run all tread through the hood really do anything as long as it looks stock.

well if u can tuck the trunk and notch i think that might be ur best bet. since its a stock derby. definatly run althread threw the hood instead of wire. i would put as much all thread as possible. if u have a limit like 6 then put 4 in the radiator support, then one on each side and keep the hood attached to the hood springs, it will be like another one holding it down. u can make something to flip the springs so it pulls it down and not up. that would be good as well.

Crash, I wouldn't weld the hood down. Unless it's just a one shot/heat type derby. If something goes wrong, under there, you'll have a heck of a time getting to it. We also bolt. But we do it with three across the radiator support, two per side in middle, and two where the hinges are. We just take the springs off. That way you can still open the hood easy, but the springs won't have pressure on trying to open the hood.

Drop the steering column mount 2 inches and put a u-joint at the bottom of the column. Tie the rear coils in top and bottom so they dont pop out when the humps bend.
