Are the 1984 chrysler, dodge, plymouth 318 engines all the same? I am also wondering if this is a good engine (drivetrain) to swap in multiple cars? Because I am going to build a 1966 Newport and use this engine & trannny, is this a good idea?

do the engion swap. ive seen a guy who only runs the 80s 318s. he will buy a diplomat or whatever for 100 and run the engion until it dies then takes it to the scrap yd w/ the car. that is he use to do that. now that we are getting 80s derbys he will be saving them. lol.

this are a good engine but the only thing that you will have to do is get rid of the lean burner and get a older carb because it will burn rich without the LB, also get a points dist. If you have time change the timing chain.

I like points for the derby and the standard Mopar electronic for the street... the Lean Burn is best suited for the trash can
