Every thread on this board starts out with something logical then the same 3 people just sit and talk back and forth through the whole thing, needs to be fixed

meaning you might as well rename most of the sections "Chat Room" If there is something asked about a certain topic, it should stay on that topic

meaning you might as well rename most of the sections "Chat Room" If there is something asked about a certain topic, it should stay on that topic Sometimes the topic is not a serious one and it shouldn't matter. I stay off the serious derby information topics because i don't know about the derby cars. Im sorry if this seems to upset you. Its just people having a laugh and fun. So smile and go with the flow. ;D

topics are not that hard to answer in forums and forums are kinda just like chat rooms just without 50 people talking at once it is kinda like a smooth easy ride sit back chill and relax dont get all agitated over it just like people have said it is a new site more people will come and it will get more interesting and yeah alot of us arent new to the derby scene

theenforcer187 and democar82....I agree the postings on some threads need to stick with the topic. Like the derby car stuff. That's why we have other threads so you can post most anything you want. Life can't be all serious or be what you want it to be. That includes here and out in the real world. Some of us have things going on in our life that is very serious and sometimes sad. We can come here laugh at some of the posts, and respond to give someone else a laugh. I need this place. I need to laugh. I need to sometimes forget if just for a minute what the real world is throwing at me. I need this place with all its nonsense (if that's what you want to call it) I hope you can try and understand my point of view about this as I understand yours.

Well, my point being, some people come here for actual help building derby cars, not for laughs.

Different sites for different niches in the market. You openly love IDDA (democar82)and at the same time have openly downgraded the DDDA but now you are posting your site on their board to fill your spot in the derby market. Enforcer I have seen you down grade the IDDA too and you mod on DDDA. Each board has its own feel. If you don't like how a shoe feels you test a different pair. Same with these boards. Try a different board. The board is what it is. Even if only 20 people like this format that is still 20 happy people in the sport. It all works togather. Plus I think if you go through the posts that you have replied to the most on the IDDA (democar82)they are nothing more than three guys talking back and forth about the same few cars. Same for enforcer in the GM section on DDDA. No one board has to be superior to any other board for as long as each board serves its group of people and they are happy. People go where they are comfortable. I am a member on all the boards. Some I like better than others. But I enjoy them all. That is the goal. Not who's site is the best. You don't like the sites presented, build your own. Quite a few people have lately. Work togather not independantly for the better of the whole sport. If the people here like it, cool, if not I hope they find a board that is to their taste. Maybe it will be TDC or DDDA. There is no right answer here so why start fights like are common on about all boards. Hell I stirred an arguement on another board just to see if the mods would fix it since the moderation on this board was criticised and as of three days it is still there. I went and deleted all but one post I made on my own. It pretty much ruined the thread it was in too. All boards have their niche and all boards have their trouble. Just go where it makes you happy.

Well, my point being, some people come here for actual help building derby cars, not for laughs. So your saying since i don't build or drive in a derby i have no business here? I wonder how many other people feel that way about me and what i post. To those i bother with my senseless ramblings about the non derby stuff IM SORRY.

You dont need to apologize for anything. If they dont like what they see, whose making them read it. Just like the FCC crap if you dont like whats on tv or the radio, change the channel.

I like this place... It's a friendly place... everyone is nice and helpful... I choose to read and post here... My point is, if I did'nt like it here, or anywhere else for that matter, I would'nt be here or anywhere else. I would find another site that met my expectations...Why complain? Go find what you are looking for! I'm staying! just my 2 cents...

Slam, I agree with you on some points. Although, I had posted on the DDDA a few times throughout the last year, not much, but I did. And, if you see who started the thread, it was not me... but a friend of mine who is on the DDDA daily. I thought since the topic was there, I would post about it. And I've also made several other posts on the DDDA other than the topic about my website, I didn't go there with the intention of advertising my site. And what exactly do you mean the "three guys talking back and forth about the same few cars"? Go thru and read my 6??? whatever posts and see how many different topics I've posted about and help I've offered, rookies and vets alike. Yes, and I have also noticed that several sites have went up recently... mine not being one. I have also noticed that a guy joined my site and only made one post... adverting the bbs you are a moderator at. I don't say the answer I have is right, I was agreeing with Enforcer that someone asks a simple question about welding this or bending this and it is twisted into some off-topic discussion, while the guy sits back and never gets an answer. I recently posted the same thing on the IDDA bbs.
Sissy, that is not what I am trying to say, but if that is how you want people to interpret it, that is fine.

I am not talking about your other 6k posts. I am talking as of late when the post and reply count has been down. It was mainly a few guys hanging out and bullshitting. That someone on your board that posted a link is me. That site has been built for a while and not realeased. I made that site on I think it was December 5th. Diversity increaes exposure was my point. Also you must admit I have seen degrading posts made as was stated asbove. Not saying times and minds haven't changed or that every topic was that way. Not even even close. Just saying variety is good and outlooks change. No need to fight on any of the boards. I plan to put up links to all existing boards on my board just haven't got there yet. Was waiting to see if my posted links got deleted or not. Which is a step in the right direction.

This is getting out of hand. Other than the Yahoo sites, I only go to three sites. The IDDA, your site Jess, and here. And as soon as the IDDA goes down, it'll just be two places. This is a bit different site, than your's Jess. And I see most, if not all, questions being answerd, just like your site. I love your site! But I love this one, too. All the sites, have a bit different feel. That's what makes them all so much fun. Like most of us, we all try and help, with what we can. So lets just leave it at that. No need to squbble!

Well, I again, agree with you in some points. But, as far as post count being down on the IDDA, yeah, because everyone knows whats coming, I don't blame them... but as you see I am still there answering questions and helping people until the very day it closes. I take pride in being an IDDA member since the beginning, and I will still sport my IDDA number on my cars. When I say some sites have come about lately, I mean within the last month or so, my site has been around for over a year. I totally don't have anything against other sites, obviously, I am on all of them posting. Although, maybe not as much as the IDDA, since I am working my butt of on mine with some awesome new software. As far as posting your link on my board... that is fine with me, I moved it to the "Derby Links" board where it belongs, and I do hope you make more posts than just the one advertising your site. Also, my post above was not meant to degrade.

I plan to post on all sites. Currently I can not get my screen name to work on your board. My email rejects the automailer and I can not get registered. I had to have Amy set up my account here and then make a hotmail account to get my confirmation. I am trying to get my email to accept the automail so I can activate my name on your board. Every site has its own feel and look. I made mine because I was bored and at the time there was no other live chat that i liked in operation. All I wanted was the chat room. But to have an active chat room you have to have an active board to get people to come chat. I really am not after a high member count. I am after people to come come and real time chat with a similar intrest in the sport and post in a forum set up they are comfortable with.. Actaully I am also a moderator on this site and help set up a few of the threads which I will continue to do. Basically I was bored so I made a website. Thing I don't want to see is fighting across the boards like the original two have. My board has a few differences from the other three out there right now. Maybe people will come or maybe they won't but it is there. I didn't put a link to mine on this board because it conflicts with being a moderator here. And if you can get into my slamshifter account on your board please PM me and I will give you the email address to set it up on so I can activate it. The only reason I posted with my other handle is because right now I can work on that account and can not get my other one activated because it has my normal email addy and I can't log back in to confirm.

yeah i hear ya, but i do agree on most points, but that's why there is a non-derby related board on here. and all sites are good, i just like some more than others, the ddda is an alright, i just for some reason don't care much for it, and jess's site i go to sometimes, but well it's mainly all tips, and i don't like telling all my secrets where the whole world can see.i'll shoot somebody an email or somthing. i don't want people to use some of my secrets that i tell them against me. and i just feel like i'm at home on the idda site, i've been basically living in that place for about the past year or so, alot of the longest members there i kinda see them like family to me, whether they think of me the same way or not. and i just like to shoot the sh it with my friends more than talk seriously, lately i've been mosly b-sing because i just don't have the interest for derbying like i did before, and after being chewed out for my ideas of my expanding mind, i just kinda lost my thinking for doing stuff to improve cars. so i just let the other guys talk because i don't know when somebody is gonna bi tch at me, and they not even know anything about the car that we are talking about.
