I have a pre run '75 newport. It is originally a 400. However the previous owner pulled m/t. I have access to a 360 and a 318, and motor mounts off of my '78 newport w/ a 400. What will it take to mount the 360 in place of the 400? Thanks!

Well, never did anything like this myself. But I'd guess that you would use the small block mounts, and make them fit the frame. I wouldn't think it would be to hard to do, as long as you have torches and a welder, and some other tools. Shorty?

Yes Steve ? Oh,,,,, the motor question ,,,,, lol . Seriously though , big block motor mounts will not fit small blocks , at all , so don't try,ok ! your gonna need a set of small block motor mounts of the same type , I believe spool type . Then your gonna run into oil pan issues . The oil pan will hit the drag link unless either of these motors came out of a same type car . If they did , great ! treat it like gold as far as what we use them for .
