pretty much all derbies you have to remove the anti-freeze or they won't let you run up here in NY.

instead of running just straight water, run some of that problend stuff, it lubricates all the inside walls, and reduces friction, and it has way better cooling power than antifreeze, and don't steam bad. and it's clear so they can't tell it's there

i dont add anything except for the no leak stuff. i take about 3 5 gallon buckets of water, a funnel, and some extra no leak stuff.

Has anyone tried running straight water and the purple stuff. The bottle claims that it will raise the boiling point.

Never tried the purple stuff. I did try some of that Water Wetter. Didn't seem to make much difference to me. Of course, I don't have a temp gauge on the cars, so not sure.

If Water Wetter is anything like "EngineKool" from NAPA, I wouldnt use it. The only two times that I've run that stuff, are the only two times that I've blown a hose. Might just be my bad luck, but I'm kind of twice bitten, thrice shy I guess. If not, I might give the WW stuff a try.

I HAVE HEARD A HEAVIER PSI CAP WILL RAISE THE BOILING POINT ...IS THIS TRUE? ??

Not sure. I'd think it's only the thermostat that can do that.

I HAVE HEARD A HEAVIER PSI CAP WILL RAISE THE BOILING POINT ...IS THIS TRUE? ?? this is true if water will have a higher boiling point if it put under pressure. more pressure = higher boiling point. i have heard of using lower pressure to relieve the rad and hoses of the pressure also.
