It was really a nice day yesterday. 58 outside, and plenty of sun! But had rained, like a bad dog, early that morning. Added some chlorine to the pool, and looked at the Merc just sitting there. So I got a bunch more of the chrome off. Also took the fiberglass front end off. Where the headlights and grill are, and stuff. And I gunked and cleaned off the engine. Guess I'll start on the door glass next time I get at it. Our big black cat and dog came out also. The sun really felt good!

Haven't done much, the last couple days. Back's been hurting. But the weather has been pretty nice. Friday and Saturday it was in the high 60's and low 70's. It's a bit cooler today. About the mid 50's. And windy. My Wife has the day off. So she's looking at her sewing e-mail stuff. Kind of quiet. I have to go do some dishes.

Hurt my back on Monday. Don't know exactly now I did it. But most of the week, I could bearly walk or stand stright. With three of my lower disc just about gone, it takes very little sometimes, to take me out. Couldn't do much. No doing my physical therapy, or taking the dog for a walk. No chores. No working on the car. It would take me about half a minute, just to stand sometimes. Today is not bad. But back is still "tender".LOL And for the general area, it's been pretty nasty, weather wise. At least for us. Snow in the hills. Hail, thunder storms, rain, wind. And cold. No snow right here, but everything else. I have to get my Son out, to cut the lawn. Rain really makes it grow. Starting to look scary. Expect to see dinosaurs out in it.LOL Steve

Just got off the phone with my Daughter. She just got into a car accident. Nobody got hurt. But she's a bit upset, to say the least. She was on her way to Anaheim (near Disneyland) on the freeway, and traffic stopped. The guy behind her didn't. Lucky he wasn't going real fast. Pushed her into the guard rail. The drives side of her 95 Tempo, is messed up nice. She can still get into it, but rear fender is hitting the tire a bit. She can't pull it out, so she's waiting for AAA to come, and maybe tow it. She took pictures with her cell phone, and is sending them to me now. And the guy had insurance. So all in all, she's ok. But darn, I wished she didn't live down there.LOL

We've had some really nice weather the last few days. It's been up to the 80's in a few areas. But mostly about mid 70's here. Still, nice and sunny! So even though my back is still sore, I thought I'd go sit in the sun, and work on taking the door glass out. It was great sitting outside, with the sun on my back. Worked outside for about 2 hours. Got some good sun on my arms. But also got some on the top of my head. Which, with no hair there, made for a stupid move on my part.LOL (Not to self: Wear a hat dummy!) After a couple days, my head is still tender.

Had my 59th. birthday yesterday. Funny, I don't feel it. At least not till my back acts up. Then it feels like I'm 104 or something.LOL My Daughter came up, from LA LA Land(LA in S. Calif) for my birthday. Best present I got! She'll help me a bit on her derby car, while she's up here. We'll get the seat adjusted for her at least.

Kind of overcast this morning. Looks like we might get some rain, for the weekend. Wet easter egg hunts for some.LOL Been working on the car, a bit at a time. My Daughter helped some, when she was here. She wasn't to sure at first, but really got into it, and had fun. Got the inside pretty well stripped out. Just the rug and dash left now. Should have the rug out today. And I've been spraying the windshield sealer with JB Blaster(or whatever the name is), so I hope to have that out soon. Back window is a bit different that I've seen. But I hope it's not to bad to take out. And I got a really cool knife for my birthday. It's a Buck knife, that has some attachments. It has a nice blade, and slide out pliers. The pliers have wire cutters and good grip jaws. Also slide out flat point and philips screwdriver points. And a nice little bottle/can opener. All have locks on them, so they don't close or go back in while using them. And it's all small enough to carry in your pocket.

My Daughter turned 31 yesterday. And still no Grandkids!LOL Guess her trying to be a actor is more important. She spent the day going to Disneyland, with her friends. Wish we could have afforded tickets to fly down there, to be with her. Oh well! It was pretty nice yesterday. Not real hot, but nice. You could smell bar-b-q's going. And the park, a couple blocks away, was full with familys doing their egg hunts and stuff. It rained just a tad this morning. But sun is out again. I could see across the bay, when coming back from taking Wife to work. You could see San Fran and the bay pretty clear. Guess some of you have gotten hit with snow and other nasty stuff. We might get some in the middle of the week, they say. At least up in the higher hills around here. Strange weather.LOL

Looks like the rain is going to be gone for awhile. So I can get back to working on my Daughters car. Can't do anything more to the inside, till my Son gets the stereo out of it. It's a pretty good one, and I don't want to chance hurting it, as I plan on putting it in my 62 Ranchro. Anyway, I guess I'll start pulling the smog pump and air conditioner out. And all the hoses to them. Got the front and back windows ready to come out. But think I'll leave them in for a bit yet. A good hot sunny day will be best for those. My Son's Durango is in the shop, for a new tranny. Our car is in too, for a problem. So I've been driving our 87 Dodge 1 ton van. Man, it sure is rough filling it up, at the gas prices now. $75.00, and it only reached 3/4 of a tank. I hope to get our Escort back soon. Lots better on the gas.LOL Glad to see that the IDDA is still hanging in there!

Got another kidney stone working on me. Man, it sure spoils your day! Didn't feel like working on my Daughters car at all. I'm guessing part of that, is from the drugs.LOL

Haven't posted in a bit. Everything is going along, more or less. Still working on my Daughters car. Slow going, but it's getting close to being done. Weather has been kind of chilly the last few days. And we may even git a bit of rain, around Tuesday. Fog rolls in around this time of year. A buddy of mine's Son, is graduating from high school, in a few days. He loves to derby, so I thought I'd get him something for safety. I found the place I use to work for, that sells safety equipment. Got him a headsock. It goes over the head, before you put on the helmet. In case of fire, it protects the face better. Anyway, it turns out, they have a good amount of stuff, that derby drivers might like. Good deals on class M helmets, 2 piece firesuits, etc. I know lots of drivers don't want to spend big bucks on safety stuff. But they have some pretty good deals, I think. Here's their site: www.pyrotect.com. Go to the site, and contact them. Say you're a destruction derby driver, and you want to hear about their stuff. And I'm sure if you wanted to get the really good stuff, they can fix you up.LOL Steve

Lets see, what's new? Got a new back gate put in. Got the backyard cleaned up, so when I get done with the Merc, we'll be able to drive it out.LOL And I'm going to finish the car up here, instead of taking it to a friends shop. Just waiting for him to bring over his extra torch set and wire feed. Found out I may be a diabetic. Have to get a new blood test, to make sure. But I've already backed off my sugar treats. Heck of a thing to do!! And also being more careful with my cholesterol, as it was a little high. Also had another kidney stone attack. That really shows what pain can be! Glad I had my vicodin!!! The good news of it is, I passed two stones. At the same time! Other than that, everything is about the same. Wife and kids are doing pretty good. I did get say a couple lines, in a movie my Son and his friends are shooting.LOL And I'm looking forward to seeing my Daughter when she fly's up here from LA LA land. It'll be good to see her again, and not just because she'll be driving the derby car.LOL Guess that's it for now. Steve

Tuesday night was the derby. My Daughter did really well, for a first timer. She got second in the powder puff. And then went to the grand finale. It's where all the other heat cars, can run one last time. There were "Hammerhead" Imps and Lincs in there also. And she got second again!!!! So, needless to say, I'm a very proud Dad!!!! And the car did well. I've never built a car that new. But I can see now, why lots of people like the square Crown Vic's and Marquis'(her's was a 83). It held up really well! She mostly hit with the front, like I thought she might.LOL I'll try and get Tude, to post some pictures up, as soon as I get them to him.

It's been a bit. So here's the latest. I don't have anymore kidney stones! ;D Which is good, because those little buggers can hurt like hell!!! The doc had to send me for a cat scan, to make sure the stones were gone. And while doing that, I guess they found some scar tissue on my lungs. So I had to go have another cat scan to get a better shot of my lungs. I wasn't realy worried. I figured it was either scar tissue, from when I had pneumonia a couple times or scars from asbestos from when I was in the Navy. And that scan confirmed it was scar tissue. The doc said not to worry. BUT, with that scan, they found something wrong with my thyroid. I have to quit getting cat scans. But I'm not really to worried. I've had a fluctuating for years! But the doc set me up for some blood test, to check it out. And that will work out fine, as I have to go for a blood test to check on my diabetes anyway. Did I metion that I'm diabetic? Well no pills, just diet. I've lost 14 pounds so far. No more cookies, cakes and ice cream for me. Oh, and the last thing: I get to go for a GI tract exam in Oct. What fun! It's a double one, where they check out both the GI tract and my stomach! ! Steve
