Full-Size Car Regulations

Vehicle Type
1. Any 1980 or newer, hardtop or station wagon is allowed.
2. No T-tops or convertibles will be allowed. Sunroofs must be covered with sheet metal.
No hearses, limos, trucks, jeeps, or 4 wheel or all wheel drives
Vehicle preparation
3. All glass, chrome, pot metal, fiberglass must be removed.
4. All flammable interior parts must be removed.
5. 2 steel vertical windshield bar, chain or number nine must be securely fastened into place to keep hood from entering drivers area. Number nine must be several strands. Chain must be no smaller than 3/8"
6. All loose objects including jacks, spare tires, broken glass, and debris must be removed and swept clean.
7. Drivers door must be painted white, no all white cars allowed
8. Car # must be displayed on roof and both sides of car, and must be clearly visible
9. No welding anywhere on car unless designated by a specific rule
10. Safety belt required and must be in working order
11. No profanity on car, no obscenities on car
Electrical system
12. Only 1 car battery allowed, must be securely fastened and covered. Bungee cords are not a means of securing.
13. Electric fuel pumps allowed but discouraged.
Electric fuel pumps must have kill switch that is reachable from the outside by fireman.
14. Battery must be in drivers compartment
Brakes
15. Cars must have operable brakes before entering the arena
Fuel
16. Pump gas only no alternative fuels. No fuel additives.
17. Stock gas tank must be removed before entering grounds.
18. A maximum 6 gallon boat or similar tank must be mounted in the backseat area of car
19. All tanks must be securely fastened
20. All gas lines must have leak proof connections.
21. If fuel line is run inside of car it must be enclosed in PVC or rubber heater hose or similar product to insure driver safety
22. A nonflammable fire wall around tank is mandatory.
23. Electric fuel pumps are allowed but discouraged must have kill switch in center of dash reachable from outside by fireman
Body and Body mounts
24. No welding on inner or outer body seams or bracing except where specified
25. If removing factory body mounts you must either replace rubber mounts or have 1" spacers holding body above frame
26. Body mount replacement bolts can be no larger than 5/8 " diameter with maximum of 3" washers. No extra body mount bolts allowed.
27. No body bolts can extend below frame. They must be inside of frame with the exception of the 4 frame corners.
28. No bolting or welding to create a body panel sandwich.
29. All thread 3/4" maximum allowed on each corner of frame and may extend below frame and above hood or trunk. A total of 4 pieces may be used on car.
30. A maximum 4" plate 1/4" thick may be used with all thread.
31. Fender wells may be trimmed out for clearance
32. Only sheet metal can be used to patch floor but must be secured with screws. No welding.
33. Cars may be pre-smashed but not in a way that creates a ramp or spear.
Doors
34. Drivers door may be welded, chained, wired closed. All other doors must be chained or wired shut not welded.
35. Drivers door must have steel door bar securely fastened to door. must not exceed 8" beyond the front and rear of drivers door.
36. No wire in window openings
37. No duct tape on window seams except drivers door
Frame
38. No welding, loading, packing, reinforcing, altering, strengthening of frame allowed.
39. Frames may be notched for pre-bending but may not be welded closed.
40. No painting or undercoating on frame, No plating frame.
Engines and Transmissions
41. Any engine & tranny combo may be used
42. Stock motor mounts may be welded
43. Motor may be chained to frame
44. Motor may not be moved from original location
45. No distributor protectors or carb protectors
46. Headers are allowed but must point straight up or straight down.
Radiators and Cooling
47. Transmission coolers are allowed but must be in engine compartment or be securely mounted in passenger area and must be enclosed in a non-flammable container. Must have transmission line or hydraulic lines not rubber fuel hose. Any Transmission cooler that does not look safe to the officials must be changed.
48. Radiator overflow must go straight down and be secured
49. Stock radiator must be in stock location
50. No extra radiators or water supplies
Bumpers
51. No special or reinforced bumpers.
52. No welding on bumpers
53. Bumper shocks may be spot welded in 4 places but not welded to frame or bumper.
54. Maximum bumper height 25" from ground to bottom of bumper.
Suspension
55. No leaf springs on coil cars, no coil over shocks allowed
56. Rear coil springs may be secured at top and bottom of spring.
57. No welding of leaf springs together, no tape on springs
58. No adding of leafs, stock spring hangers only and stock leaf spring clamps only
59. Shocks must have 2" of travel up and down shocks must be mounted in original position
60. Only 4 or 5 lug rear ends allowed
61. No chaining of axle to frame no welding on frame
62. No trailer hitches allowed
Hood and Trunk
63. If trunk is operable for inspection no hole in trunk needed
64. If trunk is closed for inspection a 16" hole must be in the deck lid and a 6 inch hole in floor of trunk for inspection. Wagons must have a 10" hole in hideaway area.
65. Folding of hood and trunk is permissible as long as it does not create a ramping effect.
66.Hoods and trunks can be fastened in place with No. 9 wire in 6 places.
67. Hoods and trunks may also have all thread extending through frame on each corner of car. (See rule 29 and 30)
68. Hood must be operable for inspection and have a 12" hole above carburetor
69. No half hoods, hood and trunk holes may have 10, 1/4" bolts. Hood must be in place to run.
Tires
70. Luggers are permitted. No studded tires, no forklift tires, no bobcat tires. Tires must be DOT street legal.
71. Filled or doubled tires allowed
72. Wheels must not exceed 15". Tires must not exceed 31"
73. Wheel weights must be removed. No split rims.
Roll Cages
74. 4 point HALO cage optional with no larger than 4" pipe or bar
75. Cage may be welded or bolted to interior of car but can not have legs extending up towards roof or down towards floors
76. The cage may not be any farther than 6" behind drivers seat and may not go through firewall
77. Cage may have 6" plates on ends and gussets in corners to reinforce cage.
Pre-ran Cars
78. Pre-ran cars may not have frame patches
79. If doors or trunks have been welded closed they must cut all welds
80. # must be clearly visible
Mini-Car Rules
1. Any car under 104" wheelbase with a 4 or 6 cylinder engine is permitted
2. No all wheel or 4 wheel drive cars permitted
3. Rules for big cars are the same for mini cars with the following exceptions
a. original gas tank may be mounted in backseat area
b. No all thread will be allowed
c. Tires must not be larger than P235/75-15
d. 15" wheel maximum size
e. Donut tires allowed
f. Maximum of 3 gallons of fuel allowed
ANYTHING LEFT OUT OF RULES WILL BE LEFT TO OFFICIALS DECISION
PLEASE PREPARE CARS TO RULES BEFORE BRINGING TO TRACK.
Cars that need to be re-inspected must go to the end of line so it is a good idea to show up early and prepare car to rules. Saturday August 25, 2008 EMINENCE
Entry Fee $30.00
Pits open: 10:00 a.m. Pit Pass $10.00
Pit gates close: 4:00pm Grand Stand $5.00
Tech line closes: 4:30pm; Re-inspections end at 5:00pm
First Heat Begins: 6:00pm
1. Each driver must fill out an entry form, sign a release of liability, and pay entry fee to be able to compete.
2. No alcohol will be permitted on the grounds
3. Anyone entering pit area must sign a release
4. Driver is responsible for his or her own actions and actions of pit crew, family, and friends
5. The promoter may reject any entry at any time for unsportsmanlike behavior. Our decision will be final and no appeal will be heard or refunds given.
Driver Eligibility
1. All drivers must show a valid drivers license.
2. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a release of liability.
3. Drivers must wear long sleeves and long pants
4. Eye protection must be in place while in arena
5. Driver must stay with car while removing from track
6. No fighting or threatening with any individual while on grounds. All violators will be prosecuted and ejected from grounds.
Pit Driving Rules
1. No speeding in pits, no exceptions. This is a disqualifying act, so don't do it.
Arena
1. Driver must have brakes before entering arena
2. Driver must be able to move forward and backward
3. Driver door is not a shield. If used as a shield driver may be disqualified for safety reasons.
4. Any car that goes out of the boundary is disqualified.
5. If car catches fire it is out for that heat and may not be restarted but is still eligible
6. Any car leaking fuel is disqualified
7. If any door opens during event car is disqualified
8. Team driving is not permissible. No spotters are allowed. Anyone disobeying this rule will be disqualified.
9. Sandbagging is a disqualifying action
10. Any car that has frame rails sticking out like spears will be disqualified.
11. All winning cars will be re-inspected
12. If your stick falls off, you are out.
13. All cars must be removed within 24 hours of event. No Exceptions
