A sad thing, in one way. He sure did some good stuff for animals! But I always thought he was going to get it, by one of the croc's. Wonder what they'll do with his show?

Sure is sad . I know some of you won't remember Merlin Perkins from mutual omaha's " Wild kingdom " , but back in the day he was the croc hunter then .

I loved Merlin and Wild Kingdom! That was the show, I think, that got all the animal/nature shows going.

they say he pulled the stingray's barb out his chest right before he died, and they say that's what does the most damage is when you pull it out, but i guess he didn't want the poison to get him,

It's possible. I think it was more a reaction to having something stuck in him. Not thinking it might have hit his heart. It hurt, and you want to get something like that, out of you. And so he pulled it out. Whatever the reason, it did him in. A sad thing indeed!
