TIPS TO DATE Note: This tips thread is just suggestions of what is common practice to give ideas. 1. Run a GM drive train and rear axle where allowed. 2. Prebend the rear or V-tuck and dimple the frame and rear sheet tin or notch 3. Run 70's or 80's style steel backer bumpers. Avoid using the alloy ones.........they crack and break easy. 4. Change steering shaft and try to eliminate rag joint when possible. 5. Weld washer to input side of steering gear to avoid pulling the worm gear from the casing.

Ive been told if you run a chevy drive train you can use a power steering line from a 1977 LTD with a 351M to hook up the pressure side.

Ive been told if you run a chevy drive train you can use a power steering line from a 1977 LTD with a 351M to hook up the pressure side. yes that works fine, but they sell the line adapters at any parts store. weld the upper a-arms bolts to the frame. especially on the drivers side. all it takes is one good hit in the tire and the a-arm will hit and bind the steering shaft. run an electric fan. ive put 4 inch lift blocks on the core support mounts and cut down the motor mounts and still had problems.

Got a question. I'm building a 84 Towncar for my Son to use next year. We have a chance of getting two brand new mud/snow tires, with really aggressive tread. But they are only 6:00x15. Do you think this will make the rear sit to low? I will be replacing the stock rear coils for the stock front coils. 20" max on height at bottom of bumper.

I wouldn't think so. The front coil hold alot more weight than the rear.

We plan on making a few trips to the local wrecking yards also. But we don't get to many snow tires around here. One of my buddys actually got a tire shop to give them two new snow tires. Suprised the heck out of us.LOL

It was 110 in our backyard this afternoon, at 3:00. The heat, and a little PB Blaster worked real well, to take out the windshield. I used a knife, to cut around the sealent. But the stuff was so soft, I don't think I really needed to use the knife, to press the windshield out. The heat really made a difference! I pressed to hard, and almost popped it out, onto the ground.LOL
